Create an elegant, high-end visual atmosphere for your brand. Projects soft, high-contrast LED illumination backward onto your wall surface to encircle your custom logo in a glowing halo outline.
A backlit LED sign, also known as a reverse-lit sign or halo-lit sign, projects illumination backward rather than outward. The front face and side returns of the sign are constructed from opaque materials (such as powder-coated stainless steel, copper, brushed aluminum, or solid matte black acrylic) which completely block light transmission. Inside the hollow back cavity of the sign, high-output flexible LED strips are installed facing the interior wall surface.
During installation, the backlit logo is mounted using 1.5-inch aluminum standoff spacers. This elevates the sign off the wall, creating a physical air gap. When powered, the LEDs project light onto the wall surface behind the logo. The wall acts as a natural matte reflector, scattering the light rays outward to create a soft, diffused glowing border. This atmospheric silhouette outlines the brand logo without glaring directly into the customer's eyes.
While standard face-lit signage is built for raw daytime brightness, backlit signs are chosen by architects and designers for their refined aesthetic qualities:
Since backlit halo signage relies on bouncing light off the mounting wall, the color and texture of the surface directly affect the quality of the glow:
Recommended Surfaces: Light-colored walls with a matte or satin finish (such as light concrete, flat white drywall, stucco, or light wood panels) are ideal because they reflect light evenly.
Surfaces to Avoid: Dark, light-absorbing walls (such as black brick) reduce the glow, whereas highly glossy or mirrored surfaces can display reflections of the internal LED diodes instead of a soft halo glow.
